About me

I’m Jennifer, a forty-something writer living and studying in Dublin. When I was 16, I entered my ‘black phase’ and have yet to come out of it. For me, the gothic lifestyle was never ‘just a phase’, it’s part of my life. I’ve been a member of the Goth scene for almost thirty years and regularly travel to the UK for gigs and festivals as well as attending goth gigs and club nights in Dublin. Many people believe that goth is just a fashion trend or a throwback to eighties music. It’s much more than that. It’s bands that are active and gigging now. It’s people who are part of this lifestyle. It’s a scene that’s very much alive and kicking. In my blog you can read about bands that are current and active in the gothic scene, festivals and gigs, club nights and places to go if you’re a goth living in Dublin. I’ll also talk about issues relevant to the gothic subculture and keep you up to date with what’s happening in ‘the scene’.
